Things to do in Grand Rapids this weekend!

There is always something to in Grand Rapids on the weekend – maybe sometimes too many things! With so many things happening, we’ve helped to narrow down some events for you to choose from! Check out five different events happening this weekend in GR below!

1.Yassou! Grand Rapids Greek Festival – Friday, August 16 through Sunday, August 18 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church (330 Lakeside Dr NE)

This is the 9th Annual Grand Rapids Greek Festival! There will be live music, live entertainment and best of all, FOOD! Click the image below for more information!

 

2. Two Year Anniversary Party for Happy Cat Cafe – Saturday, August 17 at Happy Cat Cafe (447 S Division Ave)

The Happy Cat Cafe is celebrating 2 years this Saturday! They will have plenty of activities going on all day plus, you can hang out with some kittens and event adopt one you fall in love with! This event is from 10:00am-6:00pm. For more information on the event, click the image below!

 

3. The 8th Annual GRandJazzFest presented by DTE Foundation – Saturday, August 17 & Sunday, August 18 at Rosa Parks Circle (155 Monroe Ave)

The GRandJazzFest is back! This event is free and family-friendly! There will be face-painting and a chance to win a guitar both days! To find out more information and the lineup for the weekend, click the image below!

 

4. Wag ‘n’ Wade Dog Swim 2019 – Sunday, August 18 at Richmond Park (1101 Richmond St NW)

Hosted by The City of Grand Rapids, The Humane Society of West Michigan & City of Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation Department, the Wag ‘n’ Wade Dog Swim is back to close out the 2019 pool season! This event is free and is obviously a dog friendly event! This year, the event is split into 45 minute sessions based on weight of dog and age so click the image below to find out when your pup can swim and other info about the event!

 

5. Princess Day at the Zoo – Saturday, August 17 at John Ball Zoo (1300 Fulton W)

If anyone has kids (or you’re always a kid at heart, like us) then head over to John Ball Zoo for Princess Day on Saturday from 9:00am-3:00pm! You can meet your favorite princesses including, Snow White, Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty and more! There will princess hair and makeup services plus tiaras, wands, fans and bracelets you can purchase! Also, if you’re a zoo member, you can have a members-only meet and greet from 8am-9am!
